Instructions to Authors

1. A declaration is to be made by the author(s) that the paper is original, has not been published  / submitted for publication elsewhere.
   
   Authors are requested not to submit manuscripts that are under consideration for publication elsewhere.

3. The paper should be typed in MS word, Times New Roman in 12 pt. The length of the manuscript should not exceed 3,500 words. Use a single column layout with both left and right margins justified. Author(s) should submit three hard (3) copies of the manuscript as well as on a CD. An electronic copy of the paper should be sent to the editor-in-chief or the managing editor (bedescollege@gmail.com, shonali3@gmail.com). The deadline for submission of articles is 30^th September 2010.

4. The cover page of the manuscript should contain the ‘title of the paper’, name(s) of the author(s), designation, affiliation(s) email, phone, fax, with STD code and postal address.

5. The second page of the manuscript should contain only the title of the paper for the purpose of anonymity in the review process. The name(s) of the author(s) /affiliation should not be mentioned on this page at all.

6. The third page of the manuscript should contain the title of the paper as well as a brief running title of not more than 4 keywords. This page should also contain an abstract of the paper in not more than 250 words.

7. Tables must be typed in double space on separate pages. Tables and copies of illustrations should be appended to text, numbered and their position in the text clearly marked, as Table-1, or Figure-1 and so on.

8. The editors hope to provide authors with a decision on whether a manuscript will be accepted within three months of receipt of the manuscript. All articles will be subject to thorough, critical, objective and fair review by the editors and referees of the journal.

9. Bede Athenaeum reserves the right to publish or reject any contribution submitted for publication without assigning any reason.

10. British spelling is preferred although any consistent spelling is accepted.

11. Double-space all text, including references, figure captions, footnotes, and tables.

12. Investigations on human subjects should conform to universally accepted guidelines.

13. All references should appear at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order and contain all bibliographical information.

14. Authors in the preparation of manuscripts should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, (APA, 6th Edition, mainly for manuscripts submitted in Psychology, Education and Social Sciences). Some examples for quoting references are:

    (a) For Journals:
                            Scholz, U., Dona, G. B., Sud, S., & Schwarzer, R. (2002). Is Perceived Self-Efficacy a Universal Construct? Psychometric findings from 25 Countries. European Journal of Psychological Assessment, 18, 242-245.

    (b) For Books:

    (c) For articles in edited Books:

15. For articles submitted in Literature, Arts and Humanities, the Modern Language Association style sheet (MLA, 7th Edition) should be followed. Some examples for quoting references are:
    

    (a) For Journals:
