Abstract

The implant systems currently available are diverse. In 2002 there were at least 30 companies manufacturing 20 different implant systems. The implant materials range from commercially pure titanium to HA coated devices and they are continually altering marketing. The materials which are discussed are believed to be bio compatible, bone bonding mechanisms are not fully characterized on a molecular level. Mechanisms that ensure implant bioacceptance and structural stabilization are fully understood, implant failures will become a rare occurrence, provided that they are used properly and placed in sites for which they are indicated. Dental implants are vast developing one now a days to compensate problems occurring in RPD, FPD and CD For better understanding and better treatment we must know the materials and bone reaction towards materials. No material full fill all the required properties of implant so far.
