Abstract

Osteoogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a hereditary disorder characterized by increased tendency for bone fractures due to high fragility. Besides bone fragility, features like laxity of the ligaments, blue sclera, growth retardation, Dentinogenesis Imperfecta (DI in some types) and scoliosis are also observed. OI can be of dominant or recessive inheritance. The authors report a case of OI, in which the patient presented with left sided tibial shaft fracture after a trivial fall along with the features of dental & skeletal fluorosis with the varicosity of the ventral surface of tongue.
