Online published on 15 May, 2014. Abstract The continuing presence of a diastema between the maxillary central incisors in adults often is considered an esthetic or malocclusion problem. Efficient treatment of diastema requires correct diagnosis of its etiology and intervention relevant to the specific etiology. Patients who consider a midline diastema unaesthetic may seek retreatment if relapse occurs. The purpose of this article was to describe closure of midline diastema with help of a clear esthetic device in a 19 yr old female patient who had undergone fixed orthodontic treatment earlier.
