Prosthodontic management of Ataxia patient - A case report

Abstract

Cerebral Ataxia is a neurological disorder manifesting gross incoordination of muscles implying dysfunction of parts of the nervous system. Patient with cerebral ataxia presents poor coordination of limbs and dysfunction of stomatognathic system because of tremors, slurred speech (dysarthria), tongue weakness, making prosthodontic procedures a challenging task. The objective of this case report is difficulties and modification of clinical procedures in managing complete edentulous patient with cerebral ataxia.
