Abstract Platform switching in combination with subcrestal placement and microstructured implant shoulders enables bone apposition to the abutment and this also ensures excellent red aesthetics over the long term. The establishment of a natural emergence profile is favoured by subcrestal placement. Platform switching is a concept recently introduced in implant dentistry. It is intended to reduce the crestal bone loss that is commonly found around implants exposed to the oral environment. Top Keywords Platform switching, subcrestal implant placement. Top |
