Abstract

Intermaxillary Fixation (IMF) for closed reduction of fracture can be considered conservative. But, its use in the management of recurrent temporomandibular joint dislocation (TMJ) cannot be considered conservative. The purpose of this article is to present a new concept of controlled range of mandibular movement, technique employed and rationale for its use in the management of recurrent TMJ dislocation.
