Although free from distortion, images created by the standard angulations can result in superimposition of adjacent anatomical landmarks or other features (surgical plates, nose pin, nose ring) leading to difficulties during interpretation. Plates often overlap the root apices making the working length determination difficult by usual standard means. This paper presents a case report where one such case was managed by an alternative imaging technique having potential to overcome these problems.
