Online published on 18 May, 2016. Abstract Fractures of the mandible represent the most common facial bone injuries, the angle being the most common site. Access to the mandibular body/angle area was usually achieved via an extraoral submandibular incision. Concern about esthetics has led to surgeons and patients favouring intraoral approaches.
