Online published on 18 May, 2016. Abstract Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor is a rare benign odontogenic neoplasm representing about 0.43% of all odontogenic tumors. There is no sex predilection and more than two thirds of the lesions appear between the third and fifth decades of life. It is more common in the posterior part of the mandible. Its origin as well as its true malignant potential is not clearly known. It usually starts as a painless swelling and is often concurrent with an impacted tooth. This article presents a case of calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor of the maxilla with brief review of literature.
