Online published on 18 May, 2016. Abstract Premature loss of primary teeth can lead to space problems which further lead to wide range of clinical implications. Bilateral early loss of second primary molars before eruption of first permanent molar may pose difficulties for pedodontist as the child at the early age may not have compliance to handle any complicated appliance which will be placed to maintain the space. Indicated space maintainer for such conditions is bilateral distal shoe. Though not used frequently in recent days many modifications of distal shoe have come.
