Abstract Aims and Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess and compare the knowledge and attitudes regarding tooth avulsion among the private and government primary school teachers of Punjab. Materials and Methods The present study was executed by administering a questionnaire containing 10 questions to a sample of 500 primary school teachers among various schools of Punjab Results The results showed that 12.4% of private and 6% of government school teachers witnessed dental avulsion at the school (p=0.0133).Only 18% of private and 8% of government schoolteachers admitted the possibility of an avulsed tooth to be reimplanted (p=0.0009). 86% of private and 75.2% of government school teachers showed interest in receiving information regarding tooth avulsion(p=0.0023). Conclusion Although private schoolteachers knowledge was significantly better than government schoolteachers, but both groups do not have adequate knowledge about the correct procedures to be followed in case of dental avulsion.
