Abstract Present study deals with the effect of biodegradable plastic paper on growth and reproduction of earthworm (Eudrilus eugeniae). A mixture of Soil + Cow-dung+ Earthworms was treated as control, whereas this mixture along with biodegradable plastic paper (1%) served as experimental material. The mixtures were incubated for 60 days, and thereafter, growth and reproductive performance of earthworm was observed. Maximum growth, number juveniles and cocoons were recorded in control, while those were significantly decreased in the experimental material. Thus, sever effect of biodegradable plastic on growth and reproduction of earthworm was observed. Top Keywords Biodegradable plastic, soil, cow-dung, earthworm, juveniles. Cocoons. Top |
