Effect of herbal preparation on gentamicin induced nephrotoxicity in male rats Talele Bharati D., Chopda Manojkumar Z. Abstract Present study was undertaken on development of herbal mixture against gentamicin induced nephrotoxicity in rats. The rats treated with herbal preparation comprising of Bauhinia recemosa, Dolichos biflorus, Sphaeranthus indicus, Tectona grandis, Tephrosia purpurea and Tribulus terrestris did not showed nephrotoxicity and mortality. These plants contain antioxidant compounds those protect cells against the damaging effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and that can scavenge free radicals have vital role in improvement of diseased conditions.
