Abstract Present study, exhibits bird species, their abundance and conservation in different habitats of Udaipur district. During study period, total 66 avifaunal species were reported at different habitats. Out of the 66 bird species reported, 62 were residents and 4 were migratory birds. These bird's species were categorized according to IUCN red data list 2018. Out of 66 species; 63 were least concerned, one vulnerable and two near threatened. Maximum numbers of species were observed near wetland site (52), agricultural land (46) and minimum species were observed in colonies (38). Out of 66 species, 35 bird species were distributed in all the three habitats. Seventeen species were restricted in wetlands only; these species were not found in remaining two habitats (agricultural land and colonies), 11 species were present in agricultural land only, while absent in wetlands and colonies, while 3 species were present in colonies only; these species were absent in wetlands and agricultural land. The numbers of species observed at wetlands were higher in comparison to agricultural land and colonies, due to the absence of human disturbance. Food priority or guild response of the bird showed that maximum species of birds were insectivorous (39.39%) followed by carnivores (24.24%), omnivores (22.72%), graminivorous (7.57%), frugivorous (4.54%) and nectarivore (1.51%).
