Abstract

The present research work was undertaken for estimation of effect of papain supplementation on growth of Common carp (Cyprinus carpio). For this, fingerlings of common carp were fed with experimental diets (T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4) prepared by supplementation of exogenous papain (0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4% respectively). Different growth and bioenergetics parameters of fingerlings were estimated during the study. Based on the analysis of these parameters, the study concluded that supplementation of exogenous papain (0.2%) in fish diet was effective for the better growth performance as well as enhanced utilization of feed ingredients in C. carpio, fingerlings.
