Abstract

Afield study was conducted for three years during rabi seasons of 20112014 at the experimental farm of Interfaculty Department of Irrigation Water Management, Post Graduate Institute, M.P.K.V., Rahuri, Maharashtra, India. The experiment comprised of eight treatments, each with three replications in randomized block design. The results indicated that drip fertigation (DF) with the application of 100% RDF (recommended dose of fertilizer) recorded significantly higher yield of brinjal (35.37 t/ha) over rest of the treatments. The treatment of DF with 100% RDF through 10:50:00 was profitable with more net seasonal income (Rs. 2,71,564 per ha) and net extra income over control (Rs.1,06,868 per ha). It was concluded that drip fertigation with 100% RDF in 21 weekly splits is the best treatment for improvement in the yield and net seasonal income of brinjal (var. Krishna ), when cultivated in medium deep clay soils of Western Maharashtra.
