Abstract Animals exposed to Potassium bromate (KBrO3) show degenerative, necrotic, regenerative nephrotoxic, DNA abbreviation and carcinogenic changes. Present study was undertaken to evaluate histological alteration in various tissues of European rabbits after exposure to Potassium bromate. It was observed that the size of the Glomerulus increased to 85.2 μm due to the exposure to Potassium bromate, as against 81.62 μm in control. The Malpighian corpuscle showed an increase in diameter (127.8 μm) compared to that in the control group (99.4μm). The Bowman's capsule space increased in diameter (42.6μm) as related to the control (17.78 μm). The diameter of the liver's central vein was decreased to 163.0 μm, while in control, it was 333.7μm. In addition, the portal vein diameter was reduced to 55.56 μm in the liver, as against 75.73 μm in control. Top Keywords Toxicity, Potassium bromate, European rabbits, Histology. Top |
