Abstract

Xanthomonas campestris is a plant pathogen causing citrus canker...Present investigation was undertaken to isolate it from citrus canker diseased lemons. The isolate was morphologically and biochemically characterized, and subjected to the production of xanthan gum. Solubility and viscosity of the resulting product was studied. Production of Xanthan gum under the influence of glucose, as a carbon source was investigated.
