Abstract

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) plays an important role against many autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, by triggering. p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase. IL-17 of Wrightia tinctoria R. Br. Is useful in folk medicines for the treatment of skin diseases with special reference to psoriasis. Wrightia tinctoria possesses five active ligands, viz., desmosterol, indigotin, indirubin, isatin and tryptanthrin, Those are considered as drugs to control psoriasis. Of them, used indigotin is regarded as a effective novel medicine for dermatological disorders.
