Abstract

Afield experiment was conducted during the kharif seasons of 2022 and to find out the effect of plant growth regulators on growth and yield of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill], variety phule sangam KDS 726, at the research farm of Balbhim college. Beed (M.S.).There were in all 7 treatments given in the form of foliar application, out of which six treatments were of plant growth regulators and one control: T0: control, T1: GA at 100 ppm, T2: GA at 200 ppm, T3: Kinetin at 100 ppm, T4: Kinetin at 500 ppm, T5: Salicylic Acid at 50 ppm and T6: Salicylic Acid at 100 ppm. The tallest plant (46 cm), number of nodules per plant (76) and highest weight of 100 seed (13.8 gm) plant −1was recorded under the influence of 100 ppm GA3 (T1), particularly during the vegetative stage. This treatment showed increased leaf area index (LAI) when spraying was done at the stage of flower initiation. During growth phase, kinetin produced highest dry matter. Administration of salicylic acid throughout the flower and pod initiation stages resulted in highest number of branches per plant.
