Abstract Present investigation was undertaken in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state, for comprehensive documentation of micro and macro flora present in major rivers of the region. Present paper deals with isolation, identification, and distribution of diatoms across 21 sites at three significant rivers Wardha, Waineganga, and Painganga in Chandrapur district. The findings revealed total 25 diatom species belonging to 13 genera, including Cocconeis (2), Cyclotella (1), Cymbella (5), Diatoma (1), Fragilariforma (1), Gomphonema (3), Gyrosigma (2), Hantzschia (1), Navicula (1), Rhopalodia (1), Stauroneis (2), Surirella (3), and Synedra (2). The documentation includes distribution records and microphotographs, providing information on diatom diversity.
