Abstract

This study demonstrates the effective application of quality design tools, specially the Kaizen Theory enhance academic programme, change the culture and performance by having direct influence on safety, quality, cost and time as well as creativity and personal involvement of all stakeholders. The purpose of this paper is to argue, cover and utilize the most effective means of Total Quality Management specially the applicability of Kaizen Theory in Engineering Education System. Kaizen Technique was applied for the advancement of Engineering education through the estimation and utilization of kaizen ideas including: practicality and efficiency of the ideas, effective use of resources, deadlines in operations and measurement and management of safety, quality, cost and time. Total Quality Management movement has exploded, capturing the attention of educators at all the levels. Certainly, Engineering Education embraces the concept of TQM as a set of tools for planning continuous improvement. Kaizen was found to be an effective tool for improving Technical course content by eliminating the wastages and the value proposition for students. There is still no consensus on how best to measure and manage quality within Engineering Education system. Thus a variety of approaches have been adopted. Further, opportunity to qualitatively correlate kaizen results with student satisfaction.
