Role of work-life balance in subjective well-being and turnover intention in Coal India Limited

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the possible outcomes of work-life balance in relation to employee’s subjective well-being and their turnover intention. Questionnaires were used as survey instrument to collect data personally from 120 managers working in different subsidiaries of coal India limited. The hypotheses were tested on the basis of Pearson Correlation and hierarchical stepwise regression analysis to expose the relationships by using SPSS 20. It was found that a fair work-family life balance plays a positive and significant role in subjective well-being. In general, the result revealed that government coal industry using work life balance practices are significantly positively associated with subjective well-being of their employees and negatively correlated with turnover intention. The work-life balance has significant correlations with subjective wellbeing and turnover intention. The results of the study are properly discussed and interpreted. The implications are highlighted and suggestions fot future studies are also listed.
