Abstract To find out the fatty acid profile of wild female Cynoglossus gracilis in breeding stage, the fatty acid composition in three tissues (muscle, liver and ovary) were analyzed using the national standard method. The results indicated that: (1) The total lipid contents in muscle, liver and ovary were 4.30% ± 0.82%, 25.81% ± 1.33% and 32.25% ± 5.59%, respectively. (2) The content of SFA in the liver was significantly lower than that in muscle and ovary (P < 0.05). The content of MUFA was significantly different between tissues (P < 0.05): highest in the liver and lowest in the ovary. Within MUFAs the fatty acid 18: 1n-9c was highest, reaching 38.63% ± 4.13%, 44.98% ± 3.85% and 28.59% ± 1.08% in muscle, liver and ovary respectively. PUFA, n-3PUFA, DHA, EPA and DPAwere all highest in the ovary. Top Keywords Cynoglossus gracilis, Fatty acid profile, PUFA, Yangtse Estuary. Top |
