Online published on 15 March, 2019. Abstract Effects of methionine (Met) deficiency on IgA+ B cells and immunoglobulins (Igs) in the ileum of Cobb broiler were observed by the methods of immunohistochemistry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) ranging from 1 to 42 days of age. Results show eda significant decrease of the number of IgA+ Bcellsand the amount of Igsin Met deficient group in comparison with control group. In conclusion, dietary Met deficiency exerts significant effect on the humoral immune function of the intestinal mucosa. This study would provide new experimental information for future studies in the effects of Met on the intestinal functions of human or other animals.
