Genotype-environment interaction in segregating generations of wheat Jatasra D. S., Paroda R. S. Department of Plant Breeding, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar-125 004, India Summary Genotype-environment interactions have been studied in parental, F1, and segregating generations (F1, F2) of four crosses between Indian and Mexican varieties. Presence of genotype-environment interactions was revealed. The linear component appeared to be accounted for most of the interactions present. Hence, mean performance of the varieties could be predicted across the environ ments. In case of grain yield, the F1’s were found to be more responsive than ten segregating generations. The mean performance appeared to be associated with linear component of genotype-environment interactions, whereas no such relationship of non-linear component with mean performance as well as regression coefficients was evident.
