Gene Effects for Grain Size and Yield in Sorghum* Patidar Hari, Dabholkar A. R. College of Agriculture, J. N. Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore, 452 001 *Part of M.Sc. (Ag.) thesis submitted by the senior author to J. N. Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur 482 004. Abstract Observations were recorded on five randomly chosen competitive plants in each replication on (i) grain yield per plant, (ii) 1000 grain weight and (iii) volume of grains. Number of grains in a marked test tube were calculated to represent volume of grains. Analysis of generation means in three crosses showed additive gene action to be predominant for all the three characters. Top |
