Abstract

Bene-Anthony Family Relations Test (BAFRT) is one of the projective tests which assesses children's family relations. Various western studies have demonstrated the clinical utility of this test with different age and clinical groups. However, there is a dearth of studies to assess the applicability of this test in the Indian context particularly among children. The aim of the present study was to assess applicability of the Bene-Anthony Family Relations Test in Indian setting. Based on random sampling technique, 30 male and 30 female children were selected from different schools of Ranchi and nearby places. Picture recognition part of Bene-Anthony Family Relation Test was administered to all participants. The obtained responses were statistically analyzed and the results revealed that the Bene-Anthony Family Relations Test has poor applicability value for Indian children. Indian children show poor level of identification with images of the BAFRT except Nobody Figure.
