Hematological disorders are a major health concern in the world and are of significant interest to dental professionals. Early diagnosis and proper investigations of patients with bleeding disorders can work as a boon for the clinicians as well as the patient‘s since unknown and uncontrollable bleeding or occurrence of bluish discoloration on different body sites can lead to panic. We present a case of Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in a 20 years old female patient who reported to our department with a chief complaint of uncontrolled bleeding from gums since 3 months. This case emphasizes the oral manifestations of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura stressing that the generalized spontaneous gingival bleeding or the presence of petechiae and hematomas in the oral cavity should lead to a suspicion of altered coagulation or bleeding disorder.
