Online published on 25 July, 2013. Abstract Spindle-cell lipoma (SCL) is a distinct histological variant of lipoma. It represents 1.5% of all adipocytic tumors and has 1/60th of the incidence of ordinary lipomas. 4 Clinically, it appears as a solitary, subcutaneous, circumscribed lesion. Males between 45 and 65 years of age are most often affected (75% to 90%).1 75% of cases affect the shoulder, upper back, and posterior neck regions, exclusively.3 An 18-year-old male patient presented with a painless, mobile mass of 5 months duration in left side of neck. The lesion was clinically diagnosed as lipoma, the ultrasound imaging of the neck showed a homogenous hyperechoic mass of approximately 5 cm in diameter and later confirmed to be spindle cell lipoma in left side of the neck region.
