Abstract The present study was carried outto find out the influence of growth stages and genden on serum constituents of Rhode Island Red (RIR) chicken on blood serum glucose, total protein, albumin, globulin and albumin/globulin (a/g) ratio. A significant difference was observed between sexes only during brooder and laying stages for glucose and during growing stage for total protein and globulin. Between growth stages, a highly significant difference was observed in glucose, total protein, albumin and a/g ratio and a significant difference in globulin. Between sexes, a highly significant difference was observed in glucose, no significant difference in total protein, albumin. globulin and a/g ratio. Between growth stage and gender interactions, a highly significant difference was observed in glucose, a significantdifference in total protein, and no significant difference in albumin, globulin and a/g ratio. Top Key words Chicken, serum, glucose, total protein, albumin, globulin. Top |
