Abstract An 8-year-old male dog (non-descript) was presented to Veterinary Clinical Complex with a history of a large and hanging abnormal growth on the right ventral aspect of the neck region for two weeks. Fine needle aspiration cytology showed an abundant myxoid stromal matrix with spindle-shaped cells exhibiting marked pleomorphism, anisocytosis, altered nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio and profound hyperchromatic changes. Biopsy evaluation of the excised tumorous growth has depicted spindle-stellate shaped cells with predominant pleomorphism dispersed in loose eosinophilic myxoid matrix. The clinical picture of the case correlates with pathological studies (cytopathology and histopathology); the growth was diagnosed as a subcutaneous myxoma.
