Online Published on 20 June, 2023. Abstract A male grimaud duck aged 1 year with a history of chronic bumble foot infection and reduced activity died suddenly. Close examination of the foot pad revealed black scab formation and thickening in the metatarsal pad. Post mortem examination revealed the presence of straw-colored clear fluid in the coelomic cavity, hepatomegaly, brown colored hepatic nodules, pulmonary congestion and cardiomegaly. Histopathology of the liver section revealed deposition of homogeneous eosinophilic material in the extracellular hepatic parenchyma and complete loss of architecture in the liver. Staining with Congo-Red confirmed the presence of amyloid. This case report describes the major bumblefoot related lesions in Grimaud and how hepatic amyloidosis contributed to the development of macroscopic and microscopic changes in the liver parenchyma.
