Influence of Weed Competition on Growth, Yield, Nutrient Uptake and Seed Protein Content of Sorghum (Var. Csh-1) Sankaran S.1, Mani V. S.2 1Agronomy, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore 2Weed Science, I. A. R. I., New Delhi Abstract The field experiment conducted to study the effect of weed competition on growth, yield, nutrient uptake and seed protein content of grain sorghum (Var.-CSH-1) showed highly significant negative correlation between (i) dry matter accumulation by weeds and dry matter production of crop, (ii) uptake of N P K by weeds and the uptake of N P K by the crop, (iii) dry weight of weeds and seed yield of crop and (iv) uptake of N by weeds and seed protein yield of sorghum.
