Abstract

A male dog was presented with history of pruritus, head shaking and development of mass in left ear since six months and was not responding to medical treatment. Examination of left ear revealed presence of severe erythema, thick aural exudate and occluded granulomatous tissue in ear canal opening. Based on history, clinical signs and physical examination, the condition was diagnosed as chronic otitis externa mainly because of obstructed mass. Since the growth originated deeply in ear canal, it was decided for lateral ear canal resection and surgical removal of the mass. Under general anesthesia, lateral ear canal resection was performed, exposed the deeply seated polyp and it was removed with regularly wound cleaned and dressing animal recovered uneventfully.
