Online published on 20 November, 2017. Abstract A mongrel dog was admitted with history and clinical sign including high rectal temperature, tick infestion. Blood smear examination and clinical haematology confirmed for hepatozoan and ehrlichiosis because of small spherical cocco-bacillary ehrlichial inclusion in the circulating monocytes and gametocytes of H. canis in the neutrophils. The dog was treated with intravenous Oxytetracycline along with 5% Dextrose normal saline and supportive treatment with Vitamin B-complex. Dog improved after 24 hours and recovered clinically after 74 hours. Top Keywords Canine, dog, ehrlichiosis, hepatozoon, oxytetracycline. Top | |
