Abstract

Scabies was reported in three cats, belong to the same owner. Clinically the cats had hair loss, severe skin itching and lesions around ear, face, eyelid, neck as well as feet and lower abdomen. Grossly the affected areas were thickened, wrinkled and covered with grayish/yellow crusts. Skin scraping examination from affected areas revealed Notoedres cati. The cats were treated successfully with Ivermectin @ 300 mcg/kg b. wt. sub-cutaneously 4 days apart for 5 occasions; topical application of Fibronil spray along with antibiotics to check secondary infection and herbal shampoo for hair growth.
