Online published on 21 July, 2012. Abstract The study is an experimental study. Sixty male soccer players were taken from the three different colleges of Chandigarh. Twenty players from each college were taken as sample for this study. Players were divided into three groups i.e., two experimental groups and one controlled group. The two experimental groups were given imagery training and goal setting. The training was given on the field and off the field. On the field the training was given to all the three groups for 30 minutes, four days in the week for 8 weeks. Off the field training was given to only the two experimental groups and no off the field training was given to control group. Experimental group (Imagery) was given imagery training four days in a week, Experimental group (Goal Setting) was given short term as well as long tern goals. The soccer skills were Dribbling, Ball Control and Passing. The test items were taken from Mc Donald Soccer Skill Test. The statistical techniques used for analyzing the data were GLM Multivariate Analysis and where the ‘F’ ratio found to be significant Scheffe's post hoc test was administered. On the basis of result it was found that there is significant improvement in the dribbling and ball control ability of the soccer players of both the experimental groups, i.e., Imagery training group and goal setting group and no improvement has been seen in the passing ability of the soccer players among the three groups.
