Online published on 24 January, 2020. Abstract Total or partial maxillectomy as a result of carcinoma leaves patients with facial disfigurement. These acquired surgical defects may affect the patient's quality of life and are often associated with long term psychosocial effects. Rehabilitating maxillofacial defects is a complex procedure and these are often treated with various types of obturators.
