Abstract

Among the different treatments used, the reduction of mean larval population of P. xylostella as compared to untreated plots was maximum in spinosad 45 SC @ 200 ml/ha followed by Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki 5% WP @ 2.0 kg/ha and Beauveria bassiana 5% WP @ 2.0 kg/ha. The lowest larval population reduction was observed in karanj oil 5% and garlic bulb extract 5%. The best marketable yield was found in spinosad 45 SC (58.10 t/ha) and lowest in garlic bulb extract 5% (42.30 t/ha) and caster oil 3% (44.80 t/ ha). The cost benefit ratio was maximum (1:1.95) with spinosad followed by Baccillus thrungensis (1:1.93) and Beauveria bassiana (1:1.83).
