Online published on 25 December, 2013. Abstract Nineteen Parotidectomies performed in ENT Depatrment, Hassan Medical college Hospital, HIMS (Hassan Institute of medical Sciences) were studied. Nineteen cases were primary parotid disease. Pleomorphic adenoma was the most common histological diagnosis. Out of 19 cases one case was adenoid cystic carcinoma which underwent total parotidectomy followed by radiotherapy. In patients with primary parotid disease, post-operative temporary facial nerve palsy was noted in 7 patients, with 1 developing a permanent palsy. Top Keywords Parotid gland, surgery. Top |
