Online published on 25 December, 2013. Abstract The term Mucoepidermoid carcinoma was coined by Stewart et al in 19451. Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is the most common salivary gland malignancy (5 -10%). Majority arise in the parotid and minor salivary glands. (64 - 75%)2 Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma is Uncommon (2–3%) r2, seen more commomly in females in 4th and 5th decade of life.Posterior aspect of mandible is the most common site. Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma of mandible is an unusual lesion that is clinically often mistaken for odontogenic lesions. This tumor can be locally aggressive and require wide en block resection.3 Here, we present a case report of primary intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma in the anterior part of the mandible. Top |
