Abstract

Epidermoid cyst is also known as sebaceous cyst. It is the result of inclusion of epidermal elements in the dermis. The factors that are thought to be responsible for development of a epidermal cyst are rupture of the sebaceous gland or damage to a hair follicle. It can also be hereditary or developmental defect. We present a case of sebaceous cyst in a 40year old male patient treated by surgical excision.
