Online published on 19 August, 2014. Abstract Peripheral ossifying fibroma is relatively common gingival growth that is to be considered reactive rather than neoplastic in nature. The pathogenesis of this lesion is uncertain. A clinical case of peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) in the anterior maxillary gingiva is emphasized, which histologically showed cellular, fibrous connective tissue stroma with calcified osseous calcifications. The clinical features and histopathology is discussed, as evincing the correct diagnosis of this lesion. Top Keywords Gingiva, Epulis, Calcifications. Top |
