Abstract

The genetic variability study was carried out with twenty four genotypes. High estimates for genotypic coefficients of variation, heritability and genetic advance were observed for days to 50 per cent flowering, plant height, seed yield/plant and days to maturity, indicating their dependability for effecting selections. Seed yield/plant had high significant positive correlation with days to 50 per cent flowering, plant height, pod length, number of pods/plant, seed weight! pod and 100-seed weight both at phenotypic and genotypic levels. The path coefficient analysis Indicated that higher seed weight per pod, number of pods/plant and 100-seed weight are important for effecting selection.
