Online published on 2 January, 2015. Abstract Phytoplasma infection was detected in periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) with multiple yellows-type disease symptoms including virescence, phyllody, virescence of petals and proliferation of shoots in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The phytoplasma presence was first studied by scanning electron microscopy. Using nested PCR, cloning, sequencing and virtual RFLP analysis phytoplasmas belonging to two ribosomal subgroups have been identified and classified. Top Keywords Phytoplasma, periwinkle, SEM, nested PCR, virtual RFLP. Top |
