Resilience as Related to Psychological Well-being among School Teachers

Abstract

Resilience has been related to improve wellbeing. Almost no study has been conducted to explore the relationship between resilience and psychological wellbeing among teachers. The aim of the present research is to examine relationship between resilience and psychological wellbeing among the school teachers. Further more, it also aimed to study the difference between private and government school teachers on resilience and psychological wellbeing. For this purpose, 98 school teachers (49 government and 49 private teachers) were recruited through random sampling technique. The independent sample t-test and Pearson's correlation analysis was used to analyse the data. The results revealed a statistically significant difference between government and private school teachers. Further the results showed a statistically significant positive correlation between resilience and psychological wellbeing among the school teachers.
