Ethanolic extract of D. Carota showed the prominent presence of steroids, glycosides, carbohydrates, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides and tannins while ethyl acetate extracts showed the prominent presence of steroids, triterpenoids, falvaonids, alkaloids, carbohydrates and tannins. The anticonvulsant activity of Daucus carota seed was screen by using Pentylenetetrazole(PTZ) induced convulsions. The ethanolic extract of Daucus carota seed shows anticonvulsant activity at a dose of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg for PTZ induce convulsion. Top Keywords Daucus carota, Pentylenetetrazole, Anticonvulsant.
