Abstract Export plays a very significant role in the development of any economy. Growth in exports is an indicator of the economic development of the country. However, development of export depends on many supporting factors and one of them is infrastructural development. But India is facing the problem of insufficiency of infrastructure and this widens the scope for researcher. This article briefly examines the development of export-oriented institutional infrastructural facilities in Indian economy post-liberalization and establishes relationship between infrastructure development and export growth. This article focuses on the various effects of infrastructure on the imports and exports of the country, role and contribution of institutional infrastructure in export, development of institutional infrastructure post-liberalization and suggests some remedies to deal with the problem of insufficiency of infrastructure.
